Samtel make Color Picture Tube production easy with help of ABB robots

Quality, acuracy, reliabitly and cycle time were the key factors for Samtel to install once again ABB robots in a flexible, automized Color Picture Tube manufacturing in India. Under the years ABB Robotics India has installed now finally 50 robots for Samtel. The latest ones were four IRB 6600 in 2005 at the plant in Kota, Rajastan. The close collaboration has been vital for the sucess of the complex project to produce 14 to 21 differnt sizes and all variants of 21 on a mixed production systems. Samtel is the world leader in Picture Tube Industries and largest in India with a capacity to produce 5.2 million in a year. In the project, various machines are used as part of a fully automated line to do various applications like gun sealing, exhaust and finishing process. A technology that combines the key core process with ABB robots has been debeloped to manipulate and assemble the tube. Another facility main feature is the sophisticated automation level of, which allows mix product production using bar code system available in the facility. The wide range of foundry robots can handle more than any worse industrial environment. Completely sealed, equipped with a two-component high-resistance enamel surface and IP67 certified. These robots are ready to meet the challenge what we got from Samcor Glass Limited, Samtel Group company to handle the glass shell of picture tube coming out at the range of temperature of 600 degree centigrade.
